China's Zhurong Mars rover has started traversing complex terrain on Mars riddled with rocks, impact craters and sand dunes, the China National Space Administration (CNSA) said on Friday. As of Friday, Zhurong has been working on the Martian surface for 75 Martian days, traveling a total of 708 meters. A Martian day is approximately 40 minutes longer than a day on Earth. The rover completed a scientific detection of a second sand dune last week and arrived in the complex terrain area earlier this week. Ground flight control personnel will next conduct visual positioning and movement path planning for the rover based on navigation terrain images they obtain every day, so as to ensure the rover's safety. Zhurong, China's first rover to land on another planet, is part of the Tianwen-1 mission to Mars conducted by the CNSA. #cgtn #china #mars #zhurong #spacechina
