class="content__text" I’m currently looking into the research around this and found it very interesting that over a quarter of female athletes have two of three in the female athlete triad. My daughter Holly is still too young for it to be an issue; but she’s obsessed with soccer at the minute and there’s some great research coming out specifically around female athletes, their physiology and their nutritional and recovery requirements around their menstrual cycle in particular 🩸 Shameless plug to my sister @karen_keane4 who lectures in ATU as I followed up on some of her studies for female athletes💪 I’m definitely not an expert on either menstrual disturbance or low bone mineral density (I recommend following @edible_evidence for HA and @drstacysims for either) - both have been on the podcast.
