class="content__text" The benefits of movement ~ Often, when we think of movement, we automatically associate it with a sweat-inducing workout at the gym. However, exercise/movement can take many forms, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. All types of movement are beneficial for our bodies and minds. Here are just a few of the benefits and why I love to move my body: ~ It releases endorphins and helps relieve stress ~ It allows us to take a break from everyday challenges and responsibilities ~ It helps emotions move through our bodies ~ It provides an outlet for self-expression and helps build confidence ~ Strengthens the connection we have with our bodies Movement is a tangible and accessible coping mechanism for all abilities, fitness levels, and ranges of mobility. Personally, I know It can also be a great outlet to meet people, build community and find support in tough times. class="content__text" Common mistakes that are killing your curls. Embracing Curls, Coils, and Kinky hair is a journey that more and more people are deciding to go on 🥰. But what's the secret to encouraging and not killing your curl pattern? Drop and share your thoughts. We are all in this together. 1. Overdoing the heat - if you are going to style your hair using a tong to define the curl pattern, don't make the mistake of thinking the hotter, the better. Very hot can mean limp.
Warm is less likely to damage the hair and is more effective for encouraging bouncy curls 2. ���Being too touchy-feely - once you're happy with your style, let it be! It's fine to twist here
and there for extra definition. either dr or with a drop of serum. But be aware that over-
manipulating hair can zap away precious moisture, break up kinks and curls, and lead to frizz 3. ���Bringing in the heavies - it's a myth that Curly, Afro Curly, Coily to Kinky hair needs heavy products that weigh the hair down. Much better to let the natural bounce and movement of the hair shine through with
products that are rich in nutrients but light consistency to efficiently work through kinks and curls. 4. ���Laying it on thick - regularly saturating hair in thick conditioner can lead to build-up if it's not rinsed out properly, which stops good stuff from future applications getting through. I developed my spray-on rinse-out conditioners to solve this problem on several levels. The formulas are as light as milk, and the spray technology ensures an even application. 5. ���Using a brush - to detangle and encourage curl pattern, ditch raking over your locks with a hairbrush and either finger-detangle or use a wide tooth comb while hair is damp. For beautiful kinks and curls, strands need to be allowed to fall together, don't break them all up. 6. ���Drying without care - your hair is most vulnerable when wet, so always handle it gently, even if you haven't shampooed or conditioned it. Squeeze or pat dry with a cotton t-shirt or microfibre towel, air dry, or a cool diffuser; no harsh rubbing with a towel, please. #love #education #hair #lover #vernonfrancois
