class="content__text" When I tell you I cried and my tears froze to my cheeks 😭❄️ This past weekend, our family was able to ski/snowboard together. The most perfect of circumstances enabled for this to happen for us: a reservation was available for Matt to ski with @disabledsportseasternsierra , August learned how to snowboard, and @lakergirljo gave us the gift of babysitting Arwen. I don’t know when we will be able to do this again but I’m so incredibly grateful for this experience and these memories. Thank you to the crew at @disabledsportseasternsierra and the instructors at @mammothmountain for the best day of riding I’ve ever had.

class="content__text" 🏮 Ming Dynasty Amidala 🏮 I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the start of AAPI Heritage Month and the eve of May 4th than to share my look from Dapper Day. When I saw this hanfu, I immediately thought of Padme Amidala’s throne room robe and I knew it had to be done. Leading up to stepping out my car in this outfit I was a fit of nerves, anxious of what people would say or how it would be received. It’s taken a while for me to get here…to embrace my roots and proudly showcase my culture. But here I am and I am now unafraid. The past few years have been monumental ones for the AAPI community. We’re making waves and making moves. Let’s keep it rolling, fam. class="content__text" Day 11: Turning Red 🐾 You bet that we waited for 12:01am to watch @pixarturningred at the soonest possible moment and live-texted each other with our reactions. And of course we stayed up even later to talk and cry about the movie because it hit us in the feels so hard. I won’t get into it too deeply because I want to keep things spoiler-free. What I will say is that the characters are beyond adorable, the style of the animation sequences is so fun, and as a member of the AAPI community, I FEEL SEEN. The #representASIAN in this film is *chef’s kiss* There are so many different cultural nods and casual sprinklings of diversity. I don’t know if the rest of this world knows how much a movie like this means to a girl like me but my inner 13 year-old Asian girl is beaming.
