class="content__text" So much has been happening lately… and there’s still more to come ! I will be a judge for @npr’s #TinyDeskContest this year! I am lucky to have had the opportunity to play the #TinyDesk twice and am so excited to be able to help bring that experience to a new up-and-coming artist . To enter, you must submit a Tiny Desk Contest entry video by March 13. The winner will get to play their very own Tiny Desk concert and go on tour with @nprmusic. I can’t wait to listen and get to know all of your music .

class="content__text" I took this photo of our host, Hakan, in Istanbul, Turkey when he brought the band and I over in 2012. I’ve taken some time to process and research the situation left from the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Before I just started reposting things, I wanted to make sure that I found trustworthy organizations that are working to aid the region. That took some time. Through recommendations and my own research, I have found the following organizations to be credible where you can know that your support is doing the good you intend it to do. I hope you find this list helpful (I did) and by doing what you can, I hope it will help instill some hope for you and any loved ones and those directly affected during an immense feeling of despair. class="content__text" Another memorable first for me during Tramp was getting asked to play @newportfolkfest in 2012. Newport is a unique place and this performance of Serpents holds a special place in my mind. This visit led to many more trips to the fort where I was welcomed by such a passionate and supportive community of artists, musicians and fans. Fast forwarding a few years, I’ll never forget how nervous I was to return to the Newport stage in 2017 but @missmargoprice was there to lift me up. Newport 2017 was my first performance since I had my son. I was insecure, vulnerable, weak. I was overwhelmed by my surroundings after being in the new mom bubble. I distinctly remember my mom and dad were with me, helping me with the baby (just a few months old) and Margo beelined right over to me and made me feel so welcome. That’s actually when we first met. She just knew exactly where I was at and she was so warm and inviting and encouraging and I felt so supported in that moment. As I reflect back on Tramp and Serpents, this performance at Newport in 2012 and subsequently the love from Margo in 2017 remain two of my favorite moments.

class="content__text" 11 years later… The official music video for Serpents is finally coming out tomorrow at 12pm ET with a special note from me airing before we premiere the video. I hope to see you there. About a year or two ago, @naomivision (Naomi Yang of #Galaxie500) reached out to me after she had rediscovered a video that we had made together in 2011, during the making of Tramp, just before the album’s release. It was for the song Serpents. At the time, I didn’t have much experience with music videos. I was very insecure about being the focus of a video. Maybe I wasn’t ready to face my demons. I know it sounds funny. I could write and perform them, but facing them and baring my soul on camera felt like an entirely different thing, and when I looked at myself, I felt uncomfortable in my own skin. I chose not to release the video. While reading Naomi’s email during the pandemic, and watching this younger version of myself, I felt empathy for the emotions I was trying to express in the song and the video form. I could see the drive within me to share my soul and connect with others that felt a similar drive and desperation for answers, resolution. The timing was uncanny, approaching the anniversary of Tramp. #SusanneSasic #Tramp11

class="content__text" I’m so excited to announce that my very special lyric book collaboration with the legendary @gina.birch, of @the.raincoats is officially available for pre-order. This book is a labor of love that highlights lyrics from my songs and pairs them with Gina’s hand-painted illustrations. The painting on the front cover of the book is an interpretation of the Katherine Dieckmann photo used for the album cover of Remind Me Tomorrow. A photo by an artist and mother, and the painting, a re-interpretation by an artist and mother. Pre-orders for the LIMITED EDITION book are now live at the link in bio.
