Vans and @recordstoredayus partnered together to create “Portraits of Her.” A collaborative effort to honor and uplift women in the music industry. Featuring a limited-edition vinyl album with tracks donated by groundbreaking female artists, a zine, and a video series highlighting their shared stories and experiences. In addition to the vinyl, Vans has donated $20K to @wearemovingtheneedle, a nonprofit organization that supports female recording industry professionals, including audio engineers and producers. Instead of just making ads about creativity, we’re helping artist bring their ideas to life. Trevor Wheatley (@treverferever) and Cosmo Dean (@cchdean) are multidisciplinary artists best known for installation work that blends pop culture vernacular with mixed media sculptural elements. For this project they turned reclaimed materials into an installation that calls attention to the fragile and irreplaceable nature of the place that we all call home.
