A closer look at the kitchen niche in our Tel Aviv project. We used mostly a neutral palette throughout the apartment. Oak flooring, white walls and lacquered cabinetry create a calming base, while the veined 'Arabescato' marble adds a powerful punch. #dietervandervelpenarchitects #TelAvivApartment . . At this master suite, an Oak veneer closet wraps around into the bathroom, creating a wall of storage cabinets with one niche for a freestanding bath tub, and another one for a make-up nook. . Wooden slats provide a subtle screen over a slab of Calacatta marble - cut from the same slabs that we used for the sculptural sinks on the other side of the room. #dietervandervelpenarchitects . . Closeup shot of the bespoke library cabinet that we designed for the 'M House'. Walnut veneer shelves are combined with intricate bronze details, like these thin bronze rods that form the side of the dividers. Indirect lighting adds warmth and highlights the books and art objects on display. #dietervandervelpenarchitects . . Photo by @patriciagoijens

Last week we celebrated our office's 'Five plus One' year anniversary (last year's party got postponed..) with an intimate dinner on the rooftop of a modernist icon (DeSingel by #LeonStynen ) in our homebase of Antwerp. . The past 6 years have been a whirlwind, a crazy adventure taking us to extraordinary locations all over the world to design beautiful homes for our wonderful clients. . At the same time, we've built an amazing team of 13 passionate designers, working & growing together, with a shared vision and in a pursuit of beauty. . Couldn't be more proud, and so thankful of our team, our clients and everyone following our work here! So looking forward to the next chapters, and to share some of the projects that we've been working on! 😎 . #dietervandervelpenarchitects

Bathroom details. A Travertine vanity is combined with sharp bronze details. Part of the floor is clad in Travertine as well, connecting the sink with the shower, while the rest of the bathroom floor is finished with a classic Oak parquet in a 'Hungarian Point' pattern. . #dietervandervelpenarchitects

From 3D drawing to reality: our design for the cocktailbar at @botanicsanctuaryantwerp is currently being built. Scroll right to see the photo's of the bar. The arches behind the bar, with intricate bronze patterns, are inspired by original doors in the century-old cloister that is being transformed into a 5-star hotel. #dietervandervelpenarchitects
