For UPSIDE, the FDA has reviewed our process and accepted that our cultivated chicken is safe to eat. We call that the ‘FDA green light’, and we’re the first cultivated meat company in the world to have it! But what is the FDA, why does it exist, and how else does it ensure your safety? Let’s dig in. 👉The FDA was established over 100 years ago, in 1906, with a mission to protect public health by ensuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation’s food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation. So yeah, the FDA makes sure just about everything you put on and in your body is safe. 👉Throughout its history, the FDA has played a crucial role in protecting consumers from harmful products, conducting research to improve public health, and providing accurate information to the public.
