⛔️CREATIVE BLOCK🤚🏼 ⛔️😞🎨 Lets talk about mental health and being a creative! Crikey it’s bloody HARD people!! I have had creative blocks in the past…Sometimes it feels like being on a conveyor belt generating ideas and keeping up with the algorithm. Maybe you are trying to forge your creative style or exhausted, health challenges, anxiety, or wish you could be more creative… here are 5 ways to combat ⛔️CREATIVE BLOCK ⛔️😣 1. 🐛🦋SET A CREATIVE ROUTINE: Ring fence a sacred time for this, it’s like a date with your creativity. It could be 1 hour on a Sunday, even when you don’t feel like it, every week. By making it a routine instead of a discipline, it will start to flow more naturally. 2. 🐛🦋HOARD IDEAS: Pinterest is your friend. Pin a few random ideas like colour swatches, textures, images, a period in history and a piece of art. This will build an overall concept you can create from. 🐛🦋3. CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT: Working from home is getting old, get out there. 😷Go to a new inspiring place like a museum or exhibition you have never been to, go for a walk. 4. 🐛🦋LEARN SOMETHING NEW: The only way to grow is to continue learning. Take a class, a workshop, learn a new skill, this will open doors to new ways of working. I took a class on Kintsugi (the Japanese art of repairing ceramic with gold) to inspire my Fine China headdress class. Completely unrelated to makeup & props but inspired a new creation and class for you guys. 🦋🐛5. LONG SHOWER: I get my best ideas in the shower. Showers are a safe place that provides a dopamine high, relaxed state, and distracted mind allowing ideas to flow.
