class="content__text" A Toronto-based Turkish restaurant owner is allocating all sales made from now until Feb. 20 to help victims of the recent earthquake that struck Turkey earlier this month.⁠ ⁠ @ozzysburgers , a popular burger spot located in the heart of Kensington Market, will be operating as usual, but any burgers sold at their Toronto location will go towards aiding victims of the earthquake by way of donation to @pennyappealca .⁠ ⁠ “Turkiye (Turkey) is my country of birth, and I am heartbroken at the news of the devastating earthquakes that have left thousands dead, injured and homeless in the winter snow and rain, including my own family,” the owner, Ozgur Sekar, wrote in an Instagram post.

According to the Toronto Star, owner Fadi Hakim has since clarified that the iconic diner will only close temporarily as they prepare for a new chapter in the Lakeview story, after posting a cryptic message on their Instagram on Feb. 14. There is no timetable set for the reopening of the restaurant, but Toronto can expect a refresh of the space and a new menu, among other changes. ... Original post: "It's not you, it's us." Toronto's most famous 24-hour diner, @thelakeviewrestaurant , announced over their Instagram yesterday that they will be closing their iconic doors at the end of the month. Open since 1932, the Lakeview has been a staple in Toronto for nearly a century, and famously the backdrop for countless movies and TV shows. Along with serving up a range of diner classics, including their inventive milkshakes, the restaurant is known for their 24-hour service, highlighted by their "Always Open" neon sign. class="content__text" A new @pianopianotherestaurant location is opening its doors at 55 Colborne Street in the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood, and it's the most over-the-top outpost yet. Outfitted in a carousel theme, the new spot showcases two levels––the top offers red velvet walls, banquette seating and large art pieces adorning the walls, and the bottom, the aptly named Carousel Bar, is full of whimsy, with bold blue moulding, massive portrait walls, and 1920s wallpaper. ⁠ ⁠ The menu boasts PIANO PIANO favourites, from hearty mushroom cavatelli to a refreshing lemon cheesecake. Cocktails like Nonna's Garden and the Piano Piano Spritzer round out flavourful, modern Italian offerings. ⁠ ⁠ Chef Victor Barry says he chose Colborne Street because he had his first date with his wife just up the street, so it has always had a special place in his heart. His newest iteration of PIANO PIANO is open daily for lunch and dinner.

The giveaway—a signature soufflé pancake topped with maple syrup and delicate whipped cream—will be available at each location for one day only, between Feb. 13 and 20. To earn the freebie, customers need only visit a location on its giveaway day, shoot a selfie making a heart shape with their hands, and share the pic to Instagram or TikTok with the hashtag #fuwafuwaforever.
