class="content__text" Did you know that Mother Armenia's (sculptor: Ara Harutyunyan) monument was installed in 1967 to replace Stalin's monument (removed back in 1962)?! The Monument of Mother Armenia (architect: Rafael Israelyan, 1950) is considered to be the guardian of the Armenian capital. The monument's pedestal is a closed structure constructed from black tuff. The inner structure refers to traditional three-naved Armenian basilicas. Look for the monument complex in Victory Park, and make sure to visit a Military Museum documenting Armenian involvement in WW2 and the Nagorno-Karabakh bloody war of the 1990s.
