 Cradle Mountain National Park Guide👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

"This must be a National Park for the people for all time." So declared Gustav Weindorfer from the summit of Cradle Mountain in 1910. So how do you go about visiting?

Where is Cradle Mountain National Park?

It’s located in the centre of Tasmania, an island off the south-east coast coast of Australia.

How do I visit?

You cannot drive your own vehicle in or out of the park during the operating hours for the park shuttle buses (8am - 6pm). You will need to park at the visitor centre just outside of the park and take a shuttle but to the park - the buses stop at the start points for the main walks.

Do I need to pay?

Yes, you need a parks pass to enter any national park in Tasmania. A day pass can be purchased for about 20 AUD each in the visitor centre, however if you are visiting several parks it may be cheaper to purchase a multi-park pass to last several months.

What facilities are there in the park?

There are no food facilities once you enter the park so purchase before you get on the shuttle bus. There are bathrooms at the major car parks.

Best walks?

Cradle Mountain Summit (very hard)
Dove Lake Walk (easy)
Hanson’s Peak (medium)
Marion’s Lookout (medium-hard)
The Enchanted Walk (very easy)
