class="content__text" So my first digital masterclass comes about with a dear friend @samarthbaj who has gotten some absolute stalwarts to join the @thedesignersclass family. This is a little BTS of the shoot we did in collaboration with the lovely @shubhikasharma and her brand @papadontpreachbyshubhika for the students of TDC. As I've always maintained a shoot is teamwork and when you have a great team - magic happens @aasthasharma your styling was fabulous (thank you for being patient with me) as was @mehakoberoi on make up with her great energy on the shoot set. @ayeshakanga it's always a pleasure to have you in front of my camera, you make my job too easy. @trishasarang I couldn't have done this without you and thank you @sheldon.santos for being a part of this and imparting your knowledge. 🙏🏽

class="content__text" It all began as a simple WhatsApp message that I got from my wonderful friend, @manasvi18 "Hey are you a Messi fan?” he asked "man, I worship the ground he walks on" "okay so would you be interested in shooting him?” He asks as I promptly reply with "I will give you my left nut" So we’re going to Paris! It happened just like that. The most incredible part of my year. When people play the hypothetical game of “Who’s the one person you’d do anything to photograph?”, for me it was always this one guy. Being a Barca fan since 1999, Messi isn't just a footballer or the GOAT or the world champion. He's our boy from la masia, the one whose given me an infinite amount of happy memories since his debut in 2004/05 Prior to photographing my hero I was nervous as hell, what do I wear? Should I tell him I’m obsesssed with him? I’m a barca fan? No? Okay let's do what you normally do- let’s try to act professional. “Don’t deviate Rohan” I told myself “be the photographer and not the fan”. The shoot was for Byjus where @singhvinsingh@adityank and of course @divyagokulnath - in the middle of them being so understanding of what we could all collectively achieve doing this shoot, I was allowed to shoot my ‘ #whiteTseries’ with Leo. At the start of this shoot my hands were actually shaking and I was like, “fuck okay this is what it's like to be very very nervous”. I was a ball of anxiety prior and had to call up my friends to calm me down. The shoot was so smooth and eventually Messi was told by his team that I was a MASSIVE fan and at the end of the shoot he came over and hugged me. Post shoot ngl many tears were shed. Thank you to @homyarpatel my assistant who held me together when I was feeling nervous. These images were shot a month and a half ago and my friends asked me why I wasn’t putting them up? “I'll wait for him to win the World Cup”. A few days ago I was fortunate enough to be in the stadium watching Leo lift that trophy. It was written in the stars and sometimes we just have to be grateful for what life gives us.

class="content__text" The year began on a tumultuous note for me where I honestly didn't know my head from my ass. It was a mental drain but emotionally leaning on a bunch of amazing friends; some took me across the world, some taught me how to simplify & some opened my eyes to happiness even if they were struggling too. You guys know who you are. Lionel Messi has always been an inspiration so for me to get to shoot him is the single most important shoot and life experience I possibly could’ve had. But then it got better.... I had another opportunity of a lifetime to go and witness him lift the world cup! Prior to the world cup beginning I thought so much about releasing these images, but something intuitively told me not to and that he was going to win it all. I held on and knew I had tickets for the finals. Next thing I know I'm live in the god damn stadium watching Leo win it all. The year began with so much uncertainty but I just needed to let go of trying to control the narrative and allow wonderful things to come into my life more seamlessly; naturally. If you believe in the power of manifestation, I think that's what happened here. In 2009 when I was just about picking up a camera not knowing much about anything, my dream was to shoot a Barca legend. 13 years ago Messi manifested! Truly grateful to whoever watches over me.

class="content__text" Ever since I can remember I've loved comedy. There's nothing better throwing your head back, laughing and not giving a f*ck, being totally present in that moment. I was introduced to stand up comedy while studying in New York by my friend @alexpischera who's now a fantastic stand up comedian himself. So when the opportunity arose to shoot @kevinhart4real of all the people! I was so f*ckin excited. Also just truly grateful for these moments in life. These are portraits I made with Kevin this year and can finally release them. Thank you to the OG @manasvi18 his team - @kavyaiyer@[email protected] and of course to my wonderful team @aashnabanaik from @theartistsproject and assistant @shivanigoel96 for dealing with that hectic schedule and my anxiety. @ryanreedxb you're a legend man And of course - Thank you to everyone here that has supported me over the years and has helped me grow.
