In the true spirit of @nenehcherryofficial this was a collective effort by people with a multidimensional sense of culture and belonging. From recording while touring in London and Reno with @devhynes pre pandemic and recording vocals in Stockholm lockdown with @mapeiofficial to being inspired by my friend @decida and @kyaal ’s remix “Buffalo Stance - Nostalgia For What Never Was” for the exhibition “Folkmusik 2.0”. class="content__text" So happy to be part of celebrating @nenehcherryofficial with my cover of her Buffalo Stance, its out now. I collaborated with @devhynes and @mapeiofficial to make a version of this song that has influenced me and my friends in so many ways. The imprint that Neneh’s voice made on my 10-year old brain has stayed with me ever since I first heard Buffalo Stance and has informed many songs I’ve written. It was 1989 and me and my friend spent most of our summer playing cards and listening to “Raw Like Sushi”. Even though I didn’t understand all the words I knew that she was on my side. The power in her voice revealed truths about what it is like to be a girl without making excuses and was intensely inspiring. The ten year old me would have been completely blown away by this and that’s how I still feel now about Neneh as a human being now that we are friends and about this powerful song, it’s still so relevant.    It was a dream to interpret it together with Dev and Mapei who I both admire so much. I hope you like it! This is a picture of us taken by my friend Paul Bryan @p_k_l_b at Glastonbury in 2011.

class="content__text" It is an understatement to say that I was looking forward to headlining at Way Out West, Pip and Bergen Fest this summer, but circumstances have shifted and I unfortunately won’t be able to for this year. I’m so sorry about this. But there are many exciting things to come and even though it is taking a little longer, I can’t wait to reunite with you as soon as my new album is ready.
