@mikereesay and @honorablemohammed are the co-founders of @dreamhausla, a non-profit art collective whose mission is to implement art as an educational tool and vehicle toward universal innovation. Mike’s art is influenced by his upbringing which instilled a deep belief in seeing the value in all people regardless of their situation. As a result, his work reflects and explores the social and economic disparities that exist in LA. Nikkolos’ work also challenges binary depictions of the world by reclaiming hybrid identities through hybrid forms. The pair are wearing the Cloudnova. New colors available now. There’s no place like home. Congratulations @tadesse_abraham_official on winning the @zuerich_marathon and setting a new Swiss record of 2:06:38. Tadesse refused to listen to those saying that, at age 39, his best was behind him – instead he dared to keep chasing his dreams and on Sunday he delivered. Running the second half of the race more than a minute faster than the first half, he turned on the afterburners in the final 2 km – when most runners are just hanging on for dear life – to take two seconds off the record he set in 2016 and delight the Swiss crowd with a victory on home soil. Even professional runners have their comfort zones. For On athlete Chloe Abbott (@chloeabbs), that’s the track. As a 400-meter runner, her long runs are 20 minutes and she prefers flat surfaces. But without getting uncomfortable, you can’t grow. Chloe broke out of her comfort zone and headed off-road to explore the trails near her home in Los Angeles, California. “I’m not going to lie. At first, I wasn’t into the idea because of how foreign running trails was to me,” she said. “It freaked me out to think about running on rocks and in nature.” The first step to feeling more confident on new terrain? @latraacskatecafe is more than a skatepark and cafe. It’s a garden, community space and cultural center. Housed inside of a 19th century courtyard in Athens, Latraac was founded by architect @zachosvarfis. He wanted to create an innovative space that would provide locals and visitors alike with a pocket of green calm, a breathing space amidst the crowded concrete streets that characterize cities across the world. Latraac finds a new balance – one that places sustainability at its core and allows nature to coexist with the community. Plants climb the plywood skate bowl, which was made using repurposed materials, and patterns of nature provided inspiration for the design of the space. This is also how we approached the design of the Cloudaway. Made from sustainable materials, including a 100% recycled lining and suede mudguard, the Cloudaway has a wave-like sidewall in the shape of a mountain and a 3D map of the Engadine Valley, the home of On, embossed onto the sole.
