let’s talk active recovery days ⬇️💗 if you’re training 5+ times per week, or you struggle with taking a complete rest day from your workouts, taking a session from your weekly workouts for an active recovery day can be really beneficial! ➡️active vs passive recovery passive recovery is when you stay at a complete rest, really important if you’re injured, in pain or when you’re exhausted mentally or physically 🥰 active recovery is really useful to help clear blood lactate in our body and can be more beneficial than sitting still as helps keep blood flowing so muscles can recover and rebuild from intense sessions. I love active recovery days, going on a walk and to the sauna, taking things slower and alwaaaays feel less tight and more energised the following day 🙌🏽 a few active recovery exercises: ➡️Walking - even a 10 min steady state walk can help with circulation, reducing stiffness and soreness ➡️Yoga - helps stretch muscles, works on flexibility and can reduce stress and inflammation ➡️Swimming - low-impact opt, helps relax your joints and helps circulation

feel soo refreshed and happy to be back after a week off from training🥳, kept my step count up, went for walks, listened to loads of good podcasts, did some recovery work and a couple yoga sessions 🧚‍♂️✨ the body doesn’t grow stronger or build endurance while you're working out, it’s the period after your workout when your body makes all of these important changes. It's vital to give your body this time to repair itself, making sure you take rest days to recover each week, I always make sure I take 2 and focus on getting good sleep and eating well 💛
