To quote Avril Lavigne “Life's like this, you fall, and you crawl, and you break And you take what you get, and you turn it into Honesty and promise me I'm never gonna find you faking I’m gutted to be missing not only the entire Nordic season this year but, more the fact that I’m missing a home World Cup in @soldierhollow utah. The place where I fell in love with this sport & broke everything under the sun ( just equipment that time…. Breaking my body came much later in my career 😂). Good luck to my @usparanordicski teammates 🦾

I’m speechless, grateful, and honored to be included in this celebration of women storytellers and stories. Seeing this also makes me feel hopeful. class="content__text" 2023. You sure started with a bang and not the way I was hoping for. Sometimes I feel like there is more strength, fuel & motivation to gain in set back & moments like this, than any amount of hours in the gym or the amount of sweat can bring. I injured myself in a pre-qualification race for FIS points in CANMORE Canada. Once I started the 10km race, the TDs decided to change the number of laps & the distance from 10km to 8.5km. The US team were not informed by this change🙈. On what should have been my last lap I injured my hand. Even though I did a whole extra lap on an injured hand I still won in my field I was so excited to be skiing that fast and looking forward to world champs. Because of the anatomy of my hands, and my stubbornness to continuing to finish the race, I did a lot of damage to my hand that resulted in surgery. But you know me I wasn’t going to let a surgery in mid-season stop me 😝. Recovering from my2nd surgery, the same mentality remains and the new chapter is being written,. #teamusa @parasnowsports
