class="content__text" With great pride, we announce 📣 📣 the appearance of NRT Trading and @beadworkskenya 's Saina collar on Stephen Colbert's Late Show, an incredible recognition to women beaders in northern Kenya! Thanks to NRT Trading's amazing partner @ibumovement , we had the honor of having actress and Oscar winner @janefonda wear the Saina necklace, made in northern Kenya to the world by pastoralists women. Through BeadWORKS, we have empowered 1,200 women in nine NRT member community conservancies, who produced 62,592 BeadWORKS items in 2022, earning Ksh 32,489,107 (USD 275,331) from the sale of the beaded products. Women earned Ksh 8,328,670 million (USD 70,581) as labor payment for the creation of the products through this handicraft business, which they used to support their children's education, small businesses, and improving their families' lives without resorting to environmentally damaging activities like charcoal production.
