class="content__text" A visit at the Cedar Island Lighthouse is a beautiful trek through the Cedar Point County Park in East Hampton, The Hamptons, New York. You est about the Montauk Lighthouse a lot but this lil gem here is rarely mentioned and yet has as much deserving attention. It’s about a 3-mile loop from the campground lower parking lot that takes you all the way around this beautiful peninsula. Cedar Island stood in the passageway between the south fork of Long Island and Shelter Island, making it hazardous for ships in the area. The light’s purpose was to guide whalers and other ships into Northwest Bay and the port of Sag Harbor, which was a thriving whaling port in the early part of the nineteenth century. I usually like to stay at boutique hotels or Airbnbs to help support residents of the areas where I travel but sometimes it pays off to stay at chain hotels like the @hiltonhotels This particular hotel is more like an apartment building with concierge service and you’re treated like royalty. Aside the fact that there a/c units didn’t work when we were there, they had installed mobile units all throughout to counter the blasting heat of the season. Also the units could use a fresh coat of paint the rooms are spacious and clean. The location is prime and you can pretty much for miles along the beach! There are restaurants galore and even a casino!
