A comeback story. We love them, don’t we? The comeback from an injury, a missed opportunity… heartbreak... or a lost season. We love them all. Maybe that’s why we all looked forward to this 2021 cross country season so much. Because this was the Comeback Season after all… the comeback from 2020. We came back to the starting line for the excitement and nerves that live there. We came back to run into controlled chaos. And we came back for the early race pushing… and the mid race pushes. We came back for the mud, and the hills, and more mud, and more hills. We came back because we wanted to finish our races before our seasons were finished. We came back for the comeback of the team huddle, the high five, the handshake, the hugs. We came back for coach because coach came back for us. We came back for the cheers… and we came back to cheer. We came back together because we needed each other. And we came back in 2021 because 2020 was not the finish line. 2020 was just a starting line in disguise. The starting line of this 2021 XC season… the start of a comeback story. And we love those kinds of stories. ✍️: @coachbennett Congratulations to all the incredible runners participating in NXR this year.

Dear Shalane, You did it. To many, it was a dream that seemed crazy. But anyone who knows you already knows - it’s the crazy, outrageous, world-shattering dreams that set your soul on fire. You ran 6 marathons. You did it in 42 days. You did them all in sub 3. You did them all over the world, with your family along for the ride, connecting with every day runners and fellow legends every step of the way. You showed us all that we should never stop pushing. That the power of a run evolves and deepens over time. And for that, we’d like to thank you. Who knows what you’ll accomplish next. ❤️ 📸: @cortneywhite_

“Why on earth would I go and run five, six miles? That’s so boring.” That’s how it started for @doradontexplore. How’s it going? Eight years after her first run, Dora is a Nike run coach and the founder of @ultrablackrunning. Her crew is a safe space for Black women, trans and nonbinary runners eager to get out on the trails. What began with a few people has turned into dozens of runners getting in miles with weekly runs through London’s forests. “We just rock up en masse, celebrate and have a good time.” Learn more about Dora and her run crew at the link in bio. 📷 by @h_cato
