(That’s some self-restraint right there! 😂) I couldn’t resist making the Amber top out of @fibremood ’s latest magazine, issue #22, for spring. It’s a boxy polo with a matching oversized collar that was simple enough to get done in an afternoon, but packs enough style for the upcoming season — especially with some high rise jeans. 🌺🌿 I have plans for some wide leg trousers and I think this top will pair perfectly for some warm weather patio cocktails in a few months! 🌸🥃 ✂️ Gifted Pattern: #fibremoodamber [goes up to 57.5” chest.] My only suggestion would be to use a 1/16” seam allowance when attaching the front plackets, else there is too wide of a gap when flipping them to the inside of the garment. I had to make a tiny pleat to hide the gap with mine. class="content__text" While I’ve been taking a break from garment sewing to focus on @loveyousewpatterns , I realized there are several makes I never even shared with you because of the holiday hustle! Have you seen ads for blanket hoodies? I completely wrote those off as being kinda silly. #youdoyoutho! However, during our first brutal arctic freeze in December 🐻‍❄️, I changed my mind and definitely wanted one! But, we gotta make it fashion, right? 😏 I took this nice heavy quilted knit and hacked the Page sweatshirt for the ultimate House Hoodie! 🙌🏼 I extended the length by 11”, added a 🦘 pocket, and used a wide satin shoelace for the hood. This, by far, is my most worn make this winter. class="content__text" 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣2️⃣ - Another great year of making in the books! 🙌🏼 🎊 🪡 My wardrobe is about 90% handmade at this point (after 10+ yrs!) I left basics behind and embraced jumpsuits and rompers even more (hello, easy outfit!) Skill-wise, I learned more tailoring techniques and really took my time with fit with every project. My garment silhouettes definitely had more ease and stretch than ever before as I keep working through my 40s 💁🏻‍♀️❤️. I have embraced more color and prints 🌈 in my wardrobe and am so happy to have met a number of new sewists at Camp ✂️! She is a bountiful gardener and I wish we lived a little closer to share in all of the veggies she grows! 😋🌱 My parent’s backyard is full of so much plants and they have a sunroom that is equally full. 🎍🪴 Too bad that green-thumb gene skipped a generation! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I love the cross-back design that just goes over the head so that my mom doesn’t have to fiddle with ties.
