class="content__text" It’s often easier to walk away than to photograph when feeling insecure, disoriented, or uncomfortable. And I did walk away…from the swimming pool set up with beautiful models. The social body conscious, long time feminist was not comfortable and I walked away. 30 minutes later I walked back onto the scene for the light, shape, and gestures by @cali_dahl How do you handle feeling uncomfortable while being creative? class="content__text" Creative collaboration makes me forget hunger & thirst, weariness, temperature, and time. This scene was the epitome of creative collaboration: 1. The diner manager allowed us work in the space and move items out of the way. 2. @twkeyes allowed me to use his main light and he also set up this shot, while saying, “You should get the picture.” 3. class="content__text" Another important aspect of photography is ‘fantasy.’ After dinner I came out to the helicopter and no one was taking pictures. The crew asked me what I’ld like to photograph and I said: “@cali_dahl in a fluffy black dress standing in the helicopter door, lit with a soft box and a large silver fill on the dress.” The crew added a secure handle for her to hold onto and we got started.
