 Fiza Khatri’s recent thesis show at the Yale School of Art ‘features Gharial crocodiles, a critically endangered species found in South Asia and represented in the collection of the Yale Peabody Museum. 

The specimens housed at the Museum have been isolated and removed from their habitats for the production of scientific knowledge. In these paintings, they are placed back into an environment composed of landscape elements from Manghopir, the crocodile shrine in Northern Karachi, as a fantasy of return and repair.’
