I’m proud, empty, full, emotional and very relieved. Yesterday’s race wasn’t just a race for me, it was an end of an era, a rollercoaster, and about fulfilling a journey. I am looking forward to finally be able to close the book about the last five years of my life. These past years have taught me A LOT. It’s been overwhelming sometimes but it has also given me experiences I am very grateful for. I was never able to turn it into hunger, strength and driving force. I might be able to do it now when I don’t have to carry the title anymore. Who knows. I’m anyway very curious about the future. I feel genuinely happy for @jolandaneff. We have raced together for the last 10 years and over a decade she’s been the most consistent rider out there. People who are close to me knows that I’ve had my struggles getting along with Jolanda. The reason has always been very clear to me but also very hard to admit. She’s always been my biggest competitor and I’ve felt jealous about her success. Therefore I am very proud about being able to feel true emotions and to cry true tears with her. Without any sense of envy. What she has achieved on her bike so far is truly incredible. I’m very proud of you Jolanda 🤍 you are a deserving winner. Thanks to my team. #oneteamonedream you know who you are. Thanks to all of you out there. We stick together. We will write chapter after chapter and create a new book together for the coming years. I have a feeling it’s going to be the most beautiful book ever. Thank you. För att bryta av lite bland all galenskap som florerar här på Instagram: Idag har jag cyklat en långtur. Jag började dagen med en stadig frukost bestående av havregrynsgröt med massa topping i form av fröer, bär, honung och havremjölk. Till gröten slank en och annan rostmacka ner. Apelsinjuice och kaffe på det. Under träningspasset på fyra timmar åt jag fyra mentosrör (ett per timme), drack totalt en liter sportdryck och drygt en liter vatten för att släcka törsten. Jag stannade även till hos farmor längs vägen för hemmagjord bulle, hemmagjord hallonsaft och lite nyplockade hallon. Slut på meddelande.
