Today marks 10 years since I moved to NYC.

On this day in 2012, I arrived at my downtown NYU freshmen dorm ready to take on the world. Second picture was taken on move-in day (obviously posing in my window to be “artsy” 🫠 with @anthonybracco who convinced me to go to NYU in the first place).

Since that very first day, I’ve had many more memorable ones. Like our graduation day at radio city (slide 3), and the roof of our midtown apartment @callyourcobb (slide 4).

Today, 3 dorms and 4 apartments later I’m still here.

Living here is not always rainbows & unicorns, sometimes a city of 8 million people can actually feel very lonely. Sometimes the rent, the MTA, and the garbage makes me want to scream.

But luckily, not a single person will even blink an eye if you scream or cry in public. No one cares. Not a single soul. You do you. Anything goes.

That’s the reason I came here in the first place. You can be or do anything. Or at least that’s what’s promised. Everyday is a new chance to “make it.” I’m still trying to figure out what that means.

New York is a complicated gal. I’ve lived here for ten years and I still haven’t figured her out.
Here’s to ten more.
