class="content__text" 🍏 Milopita 🇬🇷 this is a Milopita, a Greek/Cypriot apple pie/cake hybrid that is foolproof for people who can’t bake (like me). It’s super simple and the end result is beyond delicious. Cinnamon-y, nutty and apple-y, it’s bloody delicious and i recommend you make it asap. Shout out @georginahayden for the inspo. To make: -Preheat your oven to 170°C fan -Peel 4 apples + cut into quarters. Remove the core then finely slice. -Place the apple slices in a large bowl, toss with the lemon juice (or brandy) + 175g of the light soft brown sugar + leave for 5 mins. -Add 275g of self-raising flour, 1tspbaking powder, 100g of ground almonds, 2tsp of ground cinnamon and a pinch sea salt -Toss to combine, then add 200ml of vegetable oil, 150ml almond milk + 1tsp of vanilla extract. Mix together. -Grease a baking dish with a little oil-it’s supposed to be round but rectangle works too. -Spoon in the apple cake mixture. -Roughly chop mixed nuts, then sprinkle them over the top with the remaining 25g of sugar. -Place in the oven + bake for 45 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
