class="content__text" Thank you to our dearest friend @troublewithprabal@prabalgurung for such a spectacular show last night during #nyfw bringing together the most incredible designs yet not forgetting a nod to our south asian heritage. It felt so edgy and innovative yet somehow beautifully familiar at the same time. We’re so lucky to have such a kind soul in our lives. @troublewithprabal I’m so in awe of all you have accomplished but more in awe of your capacity for kindness and care for others while creating something so epic and truly grateful to be on the receiving end of that. Will never got get it. Love you my friend and so proud to call you that ❤️😊🎉

class="content__text" Happy 40th birthday to my little sister payal @payal I just adore you and I’m so incredibly proud of the woman you are. We have been through such a long journey together of mentorship, friendship and sisterhood. There are few times in ones life we get to meet such extraordinary people who we so naturally share such a special bond with. I’m so grateful for our sincere and mutual kindness towards each other and love and support for over a decade. God bless you and happy birthday! I love this pic @nickpujji took a few weeks ago amongst these fuzzy furry little animals at Malti Marie’s bday with our little prince Zayne. 💝💝💝💝

class="content__text" Happy New Year 💝 As I look ahead with hope and excitement for 2023, I also reflect on 2022 which if I’m to summarise has really been a year of lost and found. I’ve had 2 major losses, my sweet puppy who died in my arms and my big sister who I watched till her last breath battle cancer 😔. I found new love ❤️ and deeper friendships. So much has been lost but much has been found and I thank god for these blessing while I take faith that all is as nature intended, whether it makes sense to me or not and truly… it does not. As I reflect on the year past, I’ve seen my friends support and fight for me in ways I’ve never experienced before, friends who through the hard times showed themselves as family. My brother has never stopped in his unwavering support of my family and I lay much gratitude at his door. Those who have really shown up for me, you know how you are and I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart. I’m excited for 2023 and I hope you all embrace it with much heart and hope and with a fierceness I can only attribute to my big sister, I hope you step into your life and own it as god intended and if you don’t believe in god then the universe intended ;) Don’t play small to make others feel better, let them see you shine while giving them kindness and inspiration to do the same, don’t care about what people think embrace your greatness and bet on yourself in 2023. Remembering that anything is possible if you believe in magic!

class="content__text" We said goodbye to my dear big sister may she always RIP. I’m so proud of my nieces @_lilydonovan@jasmindxx for their strength during this extremely difficult time. I’d also like to humbly thank everyone who has sent messages of condolences, donations, flowers and thoughtful gifts, we’ve been overwhelmed with the kind gestures. Words can’t express how I’m feeling right now and the sudden loss my entire family has endured, it comes in waves and one minute I feel joy and another deep sadness and pain. Here are a few words I spoke at her funeral. I love her so much and will miss her forever. ❤️🩹💔😔 Growing up, annu and I couldn’t have been more different. While I was an insecure little brown girl pretending to be white, she was valiantly proud of her Indian heritage wearing her prandi (an Indian tassel worn on the end of a long plat) using it to fight off my bullies on the playground. When I was a teenager trying to conform to being a good Indian Princess she was wearing bright lipsticks and high heels fighting to be seen and heard as her own person. Annu was adamant then, that she wanted to live life on her own terms and she did that so bravely she simply did not care what people thought of her. she did it so effortlessly… being herself, I realise many of us looked at her with a desire to be that free but never had the courage to live it, she was unapologetic and fearless. My weaknesses were her strengths…we were 2 sides of the same perfect penny and even though I didn’t always understand her, she loved me regardless, and even to her last breath she was in my corner fighting for me. Annu fought this battle with cancer, what I realise now is she’s a fighter and unstoppable, she’s an inspiration to so many, she fought for so many young girls who could not win on their own she made them believe in themselves, just like she did for me as a little girl. So in honour of Annu, from this day forward, I hope we all live a bit more like her, be ourselves no matter what people think and live our truths while helping others live theirs. In that lies the beauty of my amazing big sister Annu.

class="content__text" Annu I will miss you forever. I will never forget how you believed in me from when I was a little girl, when people told me I was stupid because I was dyslexic, when you fought my bullies off in the playground, you told anyone who would listen that I would be someone, even when I had zero belief in myself. You told me to never stop reaching for the stars. You gave me permission to live fearlessly and unapologetically because that’s how you lived. You were brave till the end and even though cancer took you from us, no one can ever take our memories. I’m heartbroken and sad to lose my sister. RIP annu and god bless you wherever you rest.

class="content__text" These were better days with my sister, just a few years ago we were enjoying thanksgiving in LA together, today I watch this cruel disease slowly take her from me, I’m gutted and heartbroken watching the life wash out of her. My feisty, bullish, outspoken sister who fought off my bullies in the playground and lived her truth no matter what people said. She is at the final stages battling cancer and as I hold her hand and massage her head I know that all the gifts she gave me will always be with me. My will to never give up, to keep fighting the good fight and to believe in myself no matter what. Annu I believe in you and I love you. God bless you.
