SP, foi f*da!!!!! 🔥🎉 I have nooooo words to describe how I’m feeling right now. I just finished my pre-Carnival tour, so now we can start the real Carnival festivities! I can’t stop watching all the videos of people dancing and jumping, and celebrating with me. Of cooourse we went a little crazy, but that’s how Brazilians have fun in February! 10 cities, 11 shows, over 50 hours of singing and dancing, lots of fun, some sleepless nights 😅🥲, and many samba schools honored. There’s a lot more to come because Carnival is about to really start! Are you ready?

Alô, @gresestacio 🩵 In the central region of Rio de Janeiro, lies the Estácio neighborhood, known as the “birthplace of samba.” It is home to Estácio de Sá, a school founded in 1955, which is my honoree today. In 2023, Estácio de Sá celebrated the Maranhão festival of “bumba meu boi” in its parade. Maranhão, a state in Brazil, hosts an annual celebration where thousands of people come together to enact narratives from Brazilian folklore, with the playful figure of the ox as a central theme. Amidst explosive colors, flowers, ribbons, sparkles, and textures, the school’s parade beautifully portrayed the encounter between the pagan and the religious, offering a rich tapestry of the culture of the northeast of our country and illustrating Brazil’s deep connection with spirituality. Alô, @uniaodailha ♥️💙 Governador Island is the largest island in Guanabara Bay, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is also where the samba school União da Ilha do Governador was founded in 1953! In 2014, their carnival theme was “It’s a Toy, It’s a Game, União da Ilha will shake things up!” Their idea was to play with our childhood memories, bringing the lightness and magical dreams of that time.
