class="content__text" 33 in 33° heat in Mdengerekeni It's been a fun couple of days working with new and old friends, digging trenches for cables, teaching Kiswahili 😬, painting classrooms, hiking along Kashani hanging with the locals, singing nursery rhymes I haven't heard in forever, playing with home made toys and watching riveting football games between the students at Mdengerekeni School and the ICON power and Give Power squad. I am on my 4th Trek with the Givepower Foundation setting up solar and a computer lab at a primary school in rural Kisauni. I love being out here, I hope I get to do this more often. Tonight is the lighting ceremony! A culmination of months of work. It's usually very exciting and the whole community comes through to be a part of the celebration then we dine together. Computer literacy changes lives! I am excited to see what this new opportunity will do for the community both for the children and adults. There are many years where I have said this is the best Birthday ever, this year though without any tequila clouding my judgement 😄 I can tell you for sure this is my favorite birthday to date! Magical is the word I would use. What a week🙏🏾🙌🏾🎉 Happy 33rd birthday to me🎉🎈❤️ *Adding painter to my LinkedIn, I did a good job y'all! All those coloring books helped😄 Also it is so therapeutic! **Also being off grid and offline for days really recalibrates ones thinking. Being alone with your thoughts is a beautiful nightmare. ***Kenyans are really nice people, their kindness to strangers is unmatched ****Dang😂 I forgot Kaya🙈😂 She is one of my favorite gifts this year, I'll save her composition for her birthday, this one's mine, she should write me one😄

class="content__text" Say hello to our future taxpayer😄 Peanut is almost 5 months old now! Can you believe it? This time last year we had just found out we were pregnant with her and were going through the don't tell anyone phase incase it doesn't work out. Our Gyna was against the secrecy because she felt if it didn't work out we would need the emotional support and how can you be supported when no one knows what you are going through. Our families knew so we told our entire inner circle then life went on as usual until we heard her heart beat for the first time❤️ It felt so real then! Baby heartbeats sound so fast! I listened to it often almost as a reminder that Peanut was real because I wasn't showing. Fast forward to when we were in San Fran and I wake up one morning look down and I could no longer see my vagina😂 I had a bump! I was soooooo excited! None of the pregnancy ills no matter how bad they got took away from how much I enjoyed being pregnant. I thought I never wanted it to end until we met Peanut whom we named Kaya Gacheri Catalina Raftery❤️ I'll be honest I didn't experience the love at first sight everyone speaks of, mine was more like shock and fear and the will to learn. I thought something was wrong with me cause I didn't experience that overwhelming love spoken of immediately. It came though about 2 weeks later when I was looking at her in her bassinet and I felt like my heart would explode with love❤️ It's been such a fun couple of months, everyday class is in session with Nippie Suckle. She smiles so much, her farts smell horrible but I love them, they hit you in waves like perfume, I love breastfeeding her even though my milk is no longer there, I love falling asleep with her in my arms, she's asleep next to me right now and I'm excited for her to wake up so we can hang out because she is awake more now and loves to do stuff to keep busy. She is making suckling noises as she sleeps, that makes me smile😊 Also she has outgrown her bassinet already and she rotates in her sleep so you find her limbs hanging out like a jail bird😄 This should probably have been a vlog story, I didn't intend to even write this long a caption but I just thought I'd share❤️

Usually I kiiiiiinda like the pain but today it is so intense😁 (that tooth at the back finally caught up with the rest)🎉 I have less than 6 months to go😭 Are people allowed to keep their braces on after just for the fun of it? I'll be reluctant to let them go 😬
