class="content__text" Self Dialogues: Hard Food (2022) 🕰️ Six-channel Film Installation on VR Headset (6m 20s) Screengrab Hard Food is both a photographic artwork and immersive, virtual video installation. It excavates and focuses on my personal journey after migrating to England over the past five years. The project explores personal reflections, memories and fluctuations. Diverging from the term’s typical definition in Caribbean society as ‘any starchy agricultural product used as food’, the title hard food takes on a more metaphorical function. It signifies thoughts or realisations that are hard to swallow or confront. The work operates as a self-confessional and diaristic work.
