THEME: WHERE ARE THE ELIZABETHS? PT.4 TEXT: Luke 1:42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. EXPOSITION Finally, Mary lands in Elizabeth's house. As soon as she heard Mary's greeting the baby in her womb leaped and she was filled with the Holy Spirit. She then spoke inspired words to Mary. This occasion brings us to a very important lesson. People who are filled with the Holy Spirit do not judge issues from the physical perspective. They allow God to speak through them. Elizabeth could have been critical and judgemental of Mary instead, she suspended whatever opinion she had on the matter and allowed the voice of God to be heard. CONCLUSION Friends, words are powerful and therefore be led in what you say to others. THEME: WHERE ARE THE ELIZABETHS? PT.3 TEXT: Luke 1:39-40 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zacharia's home, and greeted Elizabeth. EXPOSITION One of the blessings in life is to have a friend in an elderly person. In Mary's moment of confusion and anxiety, there was one woman out of the lot in whom she could confide. Friends, it is sad that many parents, teachers and pastors are so distant from their young people.When they have issues, there's no one to talk to. Women like Elizabeth teach us the importance of friendship and mentorship. CONCLUSION My dear Christian friend, let young people find their Elizabeth in you. EXPOSITION In today's chosen text, the clear message we find is that women like Elizabeth are used by God as a reference point to help others deal with their uncertainties. Sometimes when we are faced with difficulties in life, we tend to weep and agitate. God however uses our struggles to encourage others. He always has the bigger picture in mind. Friends, God used Elizabeth's testimony to inspire Mary to accept and trust in Him. May God use your story to inspire and bless others. CONCLUSION My dear Christian friend, may others from your example comfort take. THEME: WHERE ARE THE ELIZABETHS? PT.1 TEXT: Luke 1: 6, "Zechariah and Elizabeth were righteous in God's eyes, careful to obey all of the Lord's commandments and regulations." EXPOSITION Elizabeth's maturity and deep spirituality guided Mary and Joseph. Without her, the young Mary may have found her condition unbearable. A woman's value in their society was measured by her ability to bear children or otherwise. In spite of Elizabeth's inability to bear children for most part of her life, she and Zechariah remained faithful to their God. Friends, life's challenges like childlessness have a way of turning the head of many women around but women like Elizabeth do not get discouraged.They continue to trust in God's appointed time. CONCLUSION My dear Christian friend, matured and spiritually deep women are a gift to any generation. Cherish them! THEME: WISE MEN FROM THE EAST PT. 5 TEXT: Matthew 2:10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. EXPOSITION In concluding our study for the week, one question is worth reflecting upon during this ADVENT season. In Advent, we prepare ourselves for the manifestation of the Messiah. In our chosen text, the wise men from the East were exceedingly joyous to see the star leading them to the baby Jesus. We will not encounter the baby Jesus at his second coming. Friends, take a minute and ask yourself: will I be happy to meet the adult Jesus should he appear this Christmas? CONCLUSION My dear Christian friend, we must take our faith journey serious. THEME: WISE MEN FROM THE EAST PT. 3 TEXT: Matthew 2:9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. EXPOSITION The wise men from the East saw the star and followed it. But how did they find themselves in Herod's palace? This is a question worth reflecting upon. Friends, we have few days to end 2021. Maybe you have been diligent in maintaining a healthy spiritual life. Be careful not to lose focus. Herod's palace represents ungodly places and desires. As the star reappeared so do I pray that God's grace will manifest in your life even if you lost focus along the line. CONCLUSION My dear Christian friend, keep your eyes on the star.
