As our biggest city settles into life under level 3, here’s how the Covid-19 outbreak looks this Friday: There are 9 new community Covid-19 cases today, all in Auckland and all linked. 3 cases are household contacts, 6 cases are contacts of known cases. 1 case announced yesterday is still under investigation. 76% of eligible New Zealanders have received their first Covid-19 vaccine, with 41% now fully vaccinated. Awash in candlelight, the Tīmaru community rallied together last night to remember three little girls killed last week. “The babies…they need to know they were loved,” said a woman who came with her own family to stand outside the house where the girls lived. Their father Graham Dickason returned home last week to find his children dead. The girls' mother, Lauren has been charged with murder.
