30s Intro • A Miami Summer Summary I’ve never been a “big birthday” person. The biggest birthday situation I’ve had was in 2018 at the age of 27 and it was with a close group of friends who will possibly be the wedding guests if that ever happens 🤣😂🤣 anyway, I hosted that birthday because something in me had told me that it would be a while before I’d be able to share my birthday with my loved ones again. Alas, 2019 I was in Savannah, GA for my birthday preparing for Cora. In 2020 we were all locked down for my birthday but I was grateful to be with my sister and niece. Cut to 2021 where the plan was to do either Paris and Spain with a detour to Ibiza or Hawaii all with the 2017 crew and new friends however the Covid travel bans said “not on my watch”. It was never part of the plan to experience those places without my people so I had to come up with a new plan… Another thing about me: my grandmother and mother live on in my heart and the back of my mind. I have never felt like “oh, it would’ve been nice to have them here” on any of my birthdays but dzaaaang, I felt it this year. It’s 30 man… I felt like it would’ve been really nice for them to see how far I’ve come WITH THEM. To top it off, even my sister @noma.mbedu couldn’t celebrate the day with me. But issokay, we’ll make up for it somehow. This is just the beginning of a new and amazing chapter. I’m grateful for new friends who have quickly turned into fam-bam. I’m grateful for the ability to create new memories and experience a new life. It’s a luxury afforded only to a few and I see God’s hand in every step I take. The few images I have here are only a glimpse of what went down. I’m saving the really good (embarrassing) ones for the slideshow at my 50th birthday 🤪 In the meantime, we start planning for my 35th birthday 💀 (yes, we’ll probably have hair that matches our bikinis again re: frame 8🤣🤪🥳) Also, I left my packing to the very last minute🙈 and @thealist.us came through for me 🥰 thank you!
