We are almost out of time! Did you know that the survival of local seabirds, whales, commercially important stocks like cod and other marine life in Newfoundland and Labrador are connected to the fate of capelin?

Those species and others rely on a small schooling fish found off the coast of northeast Newfoundland, capelin. Yet today, the keystone forage species is critically depleted as a result of overfishing over the last three decades. We must act now to rebuild capelin populations. Their survival is vital for a healthy ocean and economy.

Add your name at the link in our bio to tell government leaders to close the commercial capelin fishery immediately.
