🟢 The USDA recommends a diet of at least 50% fresh fruits and vegetables. However, only 4% of federal financial support to farms went toward the production of fruits and vegetables in 2019. Compare that to the 30% that domestic meat, poultry, eggs, and animal feed received.
🟢 Our current food system is one of the biggest drivers of pollution, biodiversity loss and climate change, all of which have devastating impacts on life on Earth.
