Since i first saw this ribald, rich, and ridiculously well written play I’ve wanted to be a part of it. Jordan brings us the closest of any modern dramatist to Douglas Turner Ward’s Day of Absence. It sews together the seemingly disparate worlds of “urban theatre” and “literary theatre” into a beautiful new piece that recognizes the merits and limits of both dramaturgies. It’s been an honor to lend my voice to the process and celebrate w fellow writer as well as collaborate w @leedaniels a great producer and friend.
