Our work for women and children in Afghanistan is more important than ever. Half of the population - more than 18 million people, including nearly 10 million children - need humanitarian assistance. As @unicefafghanistan continues its work, we're calling for attacks on children to end. Hard-won girls' rights, including access to education to be protected, and safe humanitarian access upheld. We won't stop, #ForEveryChild.

Mental health affects how we think, feel and act. But it’s still stigmatized and support is underfunded in almost every country. To give children and young people the care they need and deserve, governments must increase investment in mental health services. #MentalHealthAction

We are deeply saddened by reports of casualties and heavy damage following a 7.2 magnitude earthquake that shook #Haiti early this morning. Children and families may have been displaced and could be in urgent need of shelter, clean water, medical care and protection. @unicefhaiti is working with government and partners to provide support. Our staff in the south are already on the ground assessing communities' most urgent needs. Despite security and logistical challenges, we expect to provide emergency aid from prepositioned stocks throughout the country. Aftershocks may occur in the coming days but UNICEF will continue to work for children and families.
