Day 3 of being infected. Though my result came negative, but as the whole house is positive, so definitely I’m infected too. I don’t remember last time I was unwell. So it’s not a great feeling obviously 🙄 Frankly last 2 days I didn’t feel like even doing Pranayam, let alone asana practice. But today woke up with no fever and I just rolled out of bed. Weather is so cold that I didn’t even want to change out of house coat 🤪 . Also, with every breath I reminded myself- I AM HEALING. 1. Simple stretches, there is no order to it ( sorry for that as it may be difficult to follow) but I just let the body guide me and did what felt good and necessary. 2. Sectional breathing to correct breathing pattern. Followed by Sama Vritti which is equal inhalation and exhalation to calm the mind. 3. Tapah - nadi Shodhna, swadhyay- om chanting, Ishwar Pranidhan- gayatri mantra chanting. Thanks to @yogatman for an enlightening session yesterday on Kriya yoga and I tried to include in my practice today. 🙏 . . #doityogiway #yogadaily #yogaeveryday #yogatoheal #healing #omicron #staysafe

As I understand the yoga philosophy more, my practice is changing/ evolving, atleast I like to see it this way💫✨ . Patanjali second sutra for asana practice- Prayatna shaitilya Ananta samapattibhyam. ⭐️Meaning- minimise the effort while doing the asana and direct the mind to infinite. And among the numerous other things, this itself makes asana practice different from any other form of exercise. Infact conditional asanas (all the asanas that you see on insta and many more) are only to make body strong and supple to be able to sit in meditative asana and meditate longer without discomfort, to keep the body in shape even in old age. Asanas are not to give any discomfort. . So talking about how asanas practice is different from exercise( or if that’s what you thought)- intense exercise produces lactic acid in body making joints stiff and muscles sore, which is contrary to idea of asana practice. As this also increases physical stress and body has to work hard to bring back the balance. I think this is why many yoga practitioners are against the idea to practice both- yoga asana and exercise. Using body as an instrument and keeping it fine tuned and protected to experience subtleties . 🧘‍♀️ . That being said, I still enjoy working towards physical goals of achieving those poses that might seem challenging( which has helped me immensely and I see profound effect in the way I even think and observe, I guess that’s the beauty of yoga) But still it is purely a physical practice, and not the essence of yog sadhna, as yoga is beyond physical. . ❓What do you do? Do you do the asana practice with physical goals in mind or use the practice to dive deeper within? . Increase Mental & Physical Stamina with these yoga asanas. Work on creating endurance! . 1️⃣Surya Namaskar- I show the first round where right leg goes Goes back first. Do the second round in which the left leg goes back first, both these together finish one round. Do 5 to 10 such rounds. 2️⃣Virabhadrasana 2-helps to improve lower body strength, create space in chest to breathe properly. repeat this on both sides for minimum five breaths. 3️⃣Utthita Parvokonasana- Works on strengthening lower body and spine, elongating the sides of the body and improving lung capacity 4️⃣Ustrasana- Camel pose helps to increase the lung capacity opens up the chest and improves mobility in the spine. 5️⃣Navasana- helps to strengthen the core muscles while creating strength and energy in the body. . ❗️REPEAT these daily to see changes! .
