If you look closely at the wallpaper in this charming children’s bathroom designed by Anne McDonald (@anne_mcdonald_design ), you’ll see that it is patterned in a menagerie of critters, including seahorses, snails, and sloths. The print is called Ode to the Unhasty, a celebration of slow creatures in a fast-paced world by @growhousegrow . Much like the wallcovering, this house is itself an homage to the slower things in life via its gracious-yet-humble spaces and fresh take on Scandinavian decoration. This 12,000-square-foot Tudor home in Pittsburgh, whose baronial vibe formerly conjured an Agatha Christie murder mystery, belongs to designer Ramsey Lyons (@ramseylyonsdesign ). She successfully transformed the eerie spaces into a cheerful, modern home for her family of eight (her husband, two tweens, two pups, and two rabbits 🐰). Here in the living room, a Damien Hirst spot painting hangs on original paneling, which was limewashed and given a tinted wax finish. Can you spy a small pooch sunbathing amid this joyful mix of floral patterns? 🐶 The room, located in designer Ramsey Lyons's (@ramseylyonsdesign ) sprawling Pittsburgh Tudor, is Minnie the West Highland terrier’s favorite nap spot—and we can’t blame her! The stylish, light-filled room features a vintage sofa covered in a @schuylersamperton print, a pendant from @urbanelectricco , curtains from @quadrillefabrics , and a Turkish antique rug. Fun fact: Designer Vicente Wolf's (@vicentewolfdesigns ) Manhattan loft has stayed pretty much the same since he first moved in during the 1980s. Thanks to a dozen industrial-sized windows, “no plant dies,” Wolf says—and he's got multiple thriving green friends to prove it. In the library, a photograph by Clarence John Laughlin rests on a neoclassical Italian chair and the triptych photograph on the floor is by Richard Avedon. In the name of fresh starts this Monday morning, we’re visiting designer Vicente Wolf’s (@vicentewolfdesigns ) crisp, gallery-like Manhattan loft. The all-white rooms (he even painted the floors white) show off the various treasures he has accumulated over the years, like the custom, four-poster daybed, a vintage Hans Wegner chair, a painting by @damienhirst , and an antique stupa from Thailand. Bold wallpaper is having a moment, and we’re particularly inspired by this strategic placement in a Malibu home designed by Standard Architecture (@standardarchitecture ) and Martha Mulholland (@martha_mulholland ). Rather than cover the dining room in a busy, floor-to-ceiling print, interior designer Mulholland backed a bar niche in a floral @gucci pattern. It’s the perfect way to incorporate a splash of maximalism without the commitment. Click the link in bio for the full tour. Written by @davidbryannash , photographed by @shadedeggesphotography .

A kid’s room doesn’t get much sweeter than this. For her young daughter, Australian designer Tamsin Johnson (@tamsinjohnson ) wanted to reference her family home’s historic past while incorporating contemporary shapes and strategic pops of red, from the floral @rollerrabbitofficial quilt to the vintage French settee. Even the stairwell in designer Tamsin Johnson's (@tamsinjohnson ) Sydney home makes a statement. And no surprise: Both Johnson and her husband, Patrick, have roots in fashion so styling every space with eclectic contemporary and vintage pieces came naturally. Here, a Murano chandelier by @striullivetriarte hangs from the original decorative ceiling. Click the link in bio for the full tour, as seen in our April 2022 issue. Designer Jean-Louis Deniot (@jeanlouisdeniot ) combined classical touches and whimsy in his family’s charming seaside escape in Île de Ré, France. One of the half-serious themes adopted for the decor was “Tintin at the beach,” after the iconic Belgian cartoon character. “That led us to introduce bright colors and some slightly childish touches,” says Jean-Louis. Here in the living area, that meant cozy vintage furnishings upholstered in sunny hues, and a model of a 19th-century racing yacht in the entry hall, visible just beyond. You might need to sit down for this! We recently peeked inside a gorgeous, gold-tinged dining room in a striking Malibu coastal retreat designed by Standard Architecture (@standardarchitecture ) and Martha Mulholland (@martha_mulholland ). The walnut dining table was custom-made by the client’s father, and the dining chairs—also custom—are upholstered in an opulent @roseuniacke velvet. The complementary large-scale painting is an acrylic on canvas from artist Kate Zimmerman Turpin’s “Rest” series. Click the link in bio for the full tour. Ever wonder how an interior designer lives? Stylishly, of course! We recently paid a visit to the handsome Los Angeles home of Cliff Fong (@cliffspot ), principal of Los Angeles-based design firm Matt Blacke (@mattblackeinc ). The living room, particularly, showcases his love of a laidback mix of design icons, from the Jean Royère chair, to the George Nakashima side table, to the Isamu Noguchi lantern. The artwork (at right) is by Vern Blosum. Click the link in bio for the full tour, as seen in our April 2022 issue. Written by @cokhio , photographed by @wabranowicz .
