Meet the finalists of our last category, the #SocialAction Award Mohamed Moamen, graduate of @unibirmingham Mohamed Moamen is a visionary, humanitarian aid worker, educationalist, and adventurer. Mohamed holds five academic degrees in Engineering, Management, Humanitarian Assistance, and Development. He studied for his Master's degree in international development at the University of Birmingham and studied Change in International Development at the University of Oxford. In addition, he is the founder of the Africa Hope Foundation, which focuses on improving access to basic education in different African countries. Omar Shahat, @UniversityOfEdinburgh During his work in academia, Omar has been awarded the Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in recognition of his commitment to professionalism in teaching and learning in higher education, in alignment with the UK Professional Standards Framework. He received The Luxembourg Peace Prize of 2016 in the category of a "Youth Peace Worker" during the World Peace Forum in Florianopolis, Brazil. Rawan Taha, graduate of @swanseauniversity Rawan is a determined global development professional, an author of a business book titled No More Job Secrets, and a LinkedIn youth employment influencer. class="content__text" Two categories announced, two more left! Today, we are announcing our finalists from the Study UK Alumni Awards #ScienceAndSustainabilityAwards. Mona Allouba, graduate of @imperialcollegelondon Doctor Mona is a Post-Doctoral Researcher and Manager of the Genetics and Genomics unit at Aswan Heart Centre (AHC). She completed her PhD studies in Cardiovascular Clinical Research Medicine at Imperial College London in collaboration with AHC in 2020. Her research focuses on identifying the genetic determinants of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy in the Egyptian population with the aim to improve diagnosis, disease management and potentially treatment of this life-threatening disease. Hashem Taher, graduate of @cardiffuni During his PhD at the University of East London (UEL), Hashem worked on the Mayor of London's plan to make London the greenest city in the world, and it was the main topic of his PhD. Hashem's environmental studies were the cornerstone to making London the biggest national park in the world 2050, in collaboration with Greater London Authority, Transport for London, Zaha Hadid Architects, University of East London (UEL) and ENVI-met (Germany). Mohamed El-Moghazi, graduate of @UniversityOfStrathclyde Doctor Mohamed has published myriad papers in esteemed conferences and prestigious journals and supervised many master’s theses and PhD dissertations on spectrum affairs. He published the book The International Radio Regulations: The Case for Reform, in 2021. class="content__text" Today, meet our Study UK Alumni Awards 2022-23 finalists for the #CultureandCreativityAward Dalia El-Abd, graduate of @UniofNottingham Ms Dalia is a holder of two Master of Arts degrees: first from the University of Nottingham in the UK, with Merit in International Relations (Chevening Scholarship), and the second from the American University in Cairo, with High Honours in Journalism and Mass Communication. Dalia established Blessing Films production company. Her latest work, ‘Spirit of Akhenaten’, is a poetic documentary revealing the untold truth of the only monotheist Pharaoh and his son King Tut. Passant Saied, graduate of @HeriotWattUni In 2012, Passant received her MBA from Edinburgh Business School, HWU. She is currently acquiring her Doctoral degree in Business Demonstration DBA, from the Swiss School of Management (SSM). In 2017, she followed her passion and shifted her career from the government to the private sector to officially establish PAF Dolls Company (short for Passant Art Factory Dolls) for making soft dolls embodying Egyptian cultural heritage. Ahmed Abdelsalam, graduate of @UniversityWestLondon Abdelsalam was selected by numerous top-tier festivals like Clermont-Ferrand, Melbourne, and Durban International Film Festivals.
