The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are opening up about how the royal family is doing following Prince Philip's passing back in April. Gert's Royal Replies shared a photo of a note they received from William and Kate after expressing condolences for the Duke of Edinburgh's death at the age of 99. The photo showed that the Cambridges responded with a card featuring an image of the late duke in 2012 lined with a black frame — to represent mourning — alongside a note thanking those who sent their condolences. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thank you for your kind words following the death of The Duke of Edinburgh," the royal couple's note read. "Their Royal Highnesses have been incredibly moved by the many thoughtful messages they have received in recent weeks. They will all miss their much loved grandfather and great-grandfather, but your message has provided great comfort at this difficult time."

"She celebrated nature everywhere she went; for instance, she could never step on an insect," September cover star Natalia Vodianova says of her grandmother. "And whenever she saw a beautiful tree, she always said, let’s hug it. She said that when you hug a tree, you receive this very special energy from Earth, from nature, that is life-giving. You can feel better, you can leave your worries and issues here with this tree... I love nature, it’s really where I get my energy from. I like to hike, and this is how I rest my body and most importantly, my spirit and my mind." Photographed in the verdant surrounds of the Jardins de Bougainville, the supermodel, entrepreneur and Guerlain ambassador Natalia Vodianova talks to Lydia Slater about the life lessons she learnt growing up in Russia, the restorative energy of nature and how she is leading the way for a better world in the September issue of Bazaar UK. When it comes to sustainable fashion, it can be hard to know where to start. With an endless barrage of information, countless new and established brands to research, and a mass of confusing terminology out there, it's understandable that anyone might feel a little overwhelmed. In light of this, every month we will focus on a brand that knows exactly what it means to be a sustainable force for good in fashion today. From debunking inaccuracies to advice for aspiring brands and tips for consumers on how to be kinder to the planet, we cut through the noise so that you don’t have to. This month we’re getting to know BITE Studios, a sustainable brand that specialises in wardrobe staples that take care of the planet. Founded in 2016, the luxury womenswear label set out with one mission of creating thoughtfully designed, sustainable clothes. Every piece is created to stand the test of time and only uses thoroughly researched materials, the finest natural organic fibres and recycled fabrics. This is hand-crafted fashion at its finest, ensuring the perfect fit every time. BITE, which stands for By Independent Thinkers for Environmental progress, has stayed true to its values today and helps its customers to shop greener and better. We sat down with the label's CEO and co-founder, William Lundgren, to learn why focusing on staples is the most important step to take when becoming more conscious with fashion.

Royal by day, soldier, author or actress by night. Day jobs might not sound all that regal, but many members of the royal family have actually had normal jobs, both before their entrance into the palace and even during. And, despite what you might think, Meghan and Prince Harry aren’t the first members of the royal family to become financially independent, either. Take a look at some of the careers (some short-lived, some long-term) members of the royal family have enjoyed over the years – from Kate Middleton's turn in fashion, to Sarah Ferguson's stint as a cleaner, at the link in our bio.

If you’re a fan of all things Bridgerton, especially its fashion, then we have some exciting news for you. The hit Netflix series is collaborating with shoe designer Malone Souliers on a 15-piece capsule collection of shoes and accessories inspired by key looks from Bridgerton. Fans can expect intricate jacquards, shimmering satins, dramatic feathered plumes and ball-worthy embellishments in Malone Souliers’ signature silhouettes for both men and women. “I’m a huge fan of Bridgerton,” explains creative director and founder Mary Alice Malone. “It revisits the past with a sense of revolution and joy, which is exactly how I approach shoemaking. This partnership has been fascinating from a design perspective, allowing us to embrace the pop and unabashed splendour of Regency fashion.” Find out more about the collection at the link in our bio.

The first image of Elizabeth Debicki as Diana, Princess of Wales in The Crown has been released. The Australian actress, who is best known for her roles in The Night Manager and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, will play the royal in the final two seasons of the Netflix show. The image shows Debicki deep in thought as she lays on a sofa – and the likeness to Princess Diana is uncanny. “Princess Diana’s spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many," said Debicki at the time of the casting announcement last summer. "It is my true privilege and honour to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one.”

London Fashion Week designer Huishan Zhang knows the importance of mentorship, crediting those who helped guide him early on with much of his success. It is because of this that he has decided to launch a new portfolio which explores the role of mentors and also highlights Asian-owned businesses, many of which are in need of more support. “I am very lucky and fortunate to have met some great mentors in my career so far,” Zhang tells us. “One is LVMH’s Delphine Arnault who set up an award at Central Saint Martins when I was a student. She really believed in me at the beginning of my career – someone I will be forever grateful for – I spent my third year on placement at Dior in the haute couture atelier.” Zhang’s experience being mentored by Arnault gave him the priceless access to a world that many young designers would kill for, and helped guide him in many ways when it came to finding his trademark style and learning the ins and outs of running a fashion business. Because of this, he wants to do the same for others. Read more about the programme at the link in our bio.

Now that we are getting dressed up again after endless months spent at home, trying to put together a chic ensemble or get back into your style groove can feel a little daunting. If getting dressed feels more chaotic than you would like it to right now, it might be a good time for a wardrobe re-set. Our outlook on certain things has shifted over the past year, including our fashion needs. For many of us, our relationship with fashion changed dramatically as we spent less time curating office-appropriate looks or attending different social events – and we may now be looking to re-prioritise where we invest our money, while also considering how much we want to consume. With sustainability playing an increasingly important role in fashion, many are focusing more on quality over quantity, adopting a curated wardrobe and investing in pieces that will last. If this sounds like you, but you feel that you need a little help with the process, let us introduce you to TBC (To Be Created), a new styling service that aims to simplify our wardrobes with just an edit of just 27 key pieces, at the link in our bio.
